First aid flashfacts - reviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I bought a 3 months subscription since they were having a 50% off a couple of days ago. It is decent but I feel that I already know all the questions I did these past two days (about 3 systems down). Dunno if it is going to boost my score but helps me browse through FA facts when I am bored or commuting.

I liked them a lot. Didn't use them much until the very end, so can't really attribute my score to them, but they came in handy. I felt strong in pharm so didn't want to study it much, but made decks for each pharm section on flash facts and ran through those once at nights just to make sure my bases were all covered. A lot of little details that I would have otherwise glazed over were exposed.

Any thoughts if these cards are better than Brosencephalon?
I much prefer flash facts since you can be very selective in what cards you want in the deck. I messed around with bros a bit but got frustrated because you could only be selective up to a point.

Ok nice. Do you think the QUALITY of the cards is better for flash facts vs Bros?

I thought flash facts was better. A lot of bros cards were way too superficial in my opinion. The decks were awesome, but some cards were just super basic and made me feel like I was wasting time. I didn't use anki much except for his cards, so I could never figure out how to delete certain cards which was annoying. I really liked flash facts a lot, especially once you could start building your own decks. I never found the quality to be lacking, and liked that the FA page was referenced with each card.

Could you tell me a bit about building decks, and how thats better than just using study Firstaid option to quiz on each section?

Yeah the site has each individual section of FA broken down, so you can click whatever sections you want to add to your deck. For example if you want just a small deck with the murmurs, you can just click on that one section. If you want all of cardiac phys, you can add all sections, etc. I made individual decks for all of the pharm from each chapter. I went through FA twice, so by no means did flash facts replace that, but I liked to use flash facts at night when I was in bed or when I was too tired to sit there and read FA. A lot of times it's really easy to glaze over the words in FA, and using cards prevents that. I used my own cards for the first two years of med school, so I was already a card person. I'm not at home now, but when I get home I can redownloading the app and send yah some pics of how to build decks!
