Cerebral cortex (the insular and medial prefrontal regions), amygdala, stria terminalis, hypothalamus, and brainstem centers (periaqueductal gray, parabrachial pons, nucleus of the tractus solitarius, and intermediate reticular zone of the medulla).Does ANS system relay in the sensory cortex or does it go only to thalamus??
Pure Motor- 3, 6 and Twelve.
My mistake.plus 4 and 11
My mistake.
I should have written- Pure Motor (medial) CNs- 3, 6 and Twelve.
These three helps to identify the site/location of a brainstem lesion.
IV is not that useful since it comes out dorsally (then circles around to go ventrally) and it is the only CN which crosses (similar to CST).Same here, but also 4.. Why don't you use 4? Because it is in the midbrain too?

While, 3, 6 and 12 not only tells you the level of the lesion (Midbrain, Pons or Medulla) but they also tells you that the lesion is medial portion of the Brainstem.
