My first DAT is coming next week, I have studying for 2 months (average 4~5 hours per day). I used KAPLAN BB, Barron's, Cliff Bio, Crack CDP. Since I didn't buy many books, I felt unprepared. After went over those books, I took the practice test from those books. I was frustrated because I didn't do well. My DAT is coming soon, but I can't concentrate on studying. I was hoping I could get a good score on the first time since I prepared it for a long time. I don't want another 3 months of studying. After getting bad score on my practice tests, I became pessmistic and uncertain. I felt like I will have to take second time. So many stuffs on my mind now keep me from concentrating on studying. I don't know what to do?

Do most people get it done first time? Or Dp most people take more than 1 time? Thanks

Don't worry man. Just go in there and KICK @$$!!! Good Luck

Yes, most do not take it again, but many do.

It is a tough test. So, I felt completely unprepared 3 days before the test. I wanted to postpone the entire week before the test. I felt like I was bombing it the entire test, in the end I did well though.

good luck

You've got a bad attitude calling this your 'first time'. Don't look to the 2nd test before even taking it the first time! Put in some more hours, take some more practices and rock it

Well you got a a lot of studying in so you should be good to go. Just remember to relax.

you read my mind. when i looked at the thread title i thought "wow, is this guy planning on taking it more than once?" good call 😛

Don't worry, I think EVERYONE feels that that way when they're a week away from the test, I know I did. I went into the test telling myself that I'd probably need to take it again, so I didn't feels as stressed, and I ended up doing totally awesome. I used like the same test prep material too, so no worries.

Good luck, and have faith in yourself!

I felt the same why there buddy and guess what... I didn't have to retake. As Tiger Woods said yesterday, "Nerves are a good thing; they mean you care."

How are you doing on the practice tests? Although they aren't a very accurate prediction of how well you'll do come test day, they do give you an indication of how much you know. I postponed my test 2 weeks, and I felt that those extra two weeks really helped me in the end. I remember answering questions that I would have gotten wrong had I not had those two extra weeks to study. Also, are you missing problems because you don't know the material or because you made stupid mistakes? Because if they're just stupid mistakes, don't let them get you down. If you're comfortable with the material, you'll be fine!

You should go ahead and take it. You'll be fine. Just relax and breath!
