From my understanding you can submit your application right now if you want to, but it will not be received by schools until June 15th? So basically the "real" 1st day to submit would be June 15th then?

If that is the case then I dont see what the advantage is to submitting right now.

Submitting now means you'll be verified by June 15th or around then. Submitting June 15th means you will be verified by mid July and schools won't see the app until then.

Why is AACOMAS so much worse than AMCAS? You already have to pick a school to apply to before you can even start the application.

I mean that's really just a technicality, once you select the school it has no implications on the app itself. You can even swap out the school later if you want.

If it makes you feel any better, I had to enter it thrice.

As I mentioned on another thread: What's the deal with entering in your "activities" in chronological order? What if one later forgets to enter a more recent achievement? Is he supposed to delete all of his entries and re-enter everything? That's beyond ridiculous.

Better solution: Have the dates you select on the "date" of your "achievement" sort the "achievements" for you...how is that not glaringly obvious.

wait...I must have missed reading this somewhere. We are supposed to add our experiences in chronological order of when they began?? Please point out where if true!

Yes please do mention ...
And does that include everything like awards, honors, experiences, etc?

I think there's a confusion, as far as I know there's no rule about entering chronologically. The only thing the FAQ says regarding this that might apply at all is:

  • Click the “Add an Experience” button and select the category from the “Experience Type” drop-down menu to begin inputting your information.
  • Your experiences will be listed in the order that you enter them, with the first entry listed at the top and subsequent entries listed underneath, regardless of the dates entered.
  • Please note that once you submit your application, you may NOT edit or remove these entries. However, you will still be able to add NEW experiences.
In short: I think it really is just a matter of whether you want the adcoms to see a certain experience first over another.

Ninelron, check the Instructions for "achievements" and you'll see what I'm talking about in re: Chronologically entering data.

Here, I got it for you:

Achievements
List and describe honors, awards, or scholarships you have received. For honors, awards, or scholarships received in multiple years or semesters, you may either enter them as multiple entries with the same name, or, if the honor or award was received consecutively, as one entry spanning multiple years. Please enter in chronological order from most recent to least recent. If you are unsure of a date, please estimate.

*
I never said anything about experiences having to be in chronological order. I'm talking about achievements.

Is anyone else also having this problem: All the dates I enter get a day subtracted from them after I hit save and continue. What in the world...

I notice this happens when I'm selecting the date I took my MCAT. I choose the 18th of April and I save and it will tell me I took it the 17th. If I select the 19th it finally tells me I took it the 18th on the final page. This also happens on my experiences.

The exact same thing with dates is happening to me. It shows my dates as 1 less than the actual date. For example, it shows my MCAT at January 22nd 2015 even though I took it on January 23rd 2015

I emailed them about it Gandy. Let's see what they say.

Yea, good idea. Update the thread when you get a chance.

So I have to chronologically put these achievements down huh....

When entering in Experiences and Achievements, is it generally considered inappropriate to format things in the following way: (to save space)

•Heped p ay out day-to-day o of atory under dupervision • Analyzed vrs for ies, tumors and other maments in oologistch ailments • Manipulated ssal, and various other specimen types in order to facilitatm diagnostics • Gained extological

I will. Hahah, yeah, I just finished re-entering them because the one I forgot was most recent. Sigh.

Good Morning

Thank you for contacting AACOMAS. This is a display issue that is present
solely on the applicant side and does not effect your application. We are
working to resolve the issue however you do not need to wait for a resolution
to submit.

Help us make your application experience better! We’re always working on
improving the application — email us at: [email protected] if you
would like to participate in reviewing upcoming changes.

here's a stupid question: where's the submit problem?? I just finished filling out all the sections

Is anyone else not being able to submit, even though all the sections are complete? I've checked over it several times and haven't found anything missing.

click on "manage my programs" on the left side.

I did that, but the green completion line wasn't filled and I couldn't click on pay and submit
did you fill out all sections and prereqs? If so, I can't imagine why it's isn't green

If everything is truly truly filled out and you still can't submit it, you have to call them/e-mail them and submit a complaint ticket. I had the same exact issue where everything was completed and I couldn't submit. It took them about 3-4 days to fix the problem.

Thank you so much! I have emailed them and will call if I don't hear back soon.
