So I just did my first TPR diagnostic and it makes me feel like ****!

I got..

Bio: 6 Phys: 4 Verbal: 5

It's been a week since I started TPR. Most of the sections I finished with time to spare cause alot of them I was just guessing cause I really had no idea!

Should I be worried about this lol

Diagnostics are supposed to make you feel like ****, I took my first diagnostics a year ago, got 6's across, I thought i was literally ******ed or something

Review all the contents and take mini-exams (timed, like the EK ones) periodically relevant to the topics your studying and if at the end of content review, you're not getting at least 7's - 8's then I would worry then

Just my $0.02, diagnostics were the reason I stopped studying for the MCAT, for a year, I wish they burn in h*ll, arggh

man, i thought i did bad, i guess, there's always someone who is worse..

have u taken all the pre-reqs yet?, if so, yes, you're in a deep hole... you'll need to work you butt off to get out of it.

If not, thats probably an okay score.

That's pretty rude and inappropriate.

OP: guess what! your diag score means NOTHING. if you haven't reviewed the material it means absolutely ZERO how much you managed to remember from the class. don't take ANY more practice tests until you're almost done with content review. you'll just be wasting them.

Dont't even begin to worry about your diagnostic score! They are no indicator of your possible score on the real MCAT.

My diagnostic was a 19, 1 month later I was scoring 32-36 on Kaplan Full lengths.

But you should take it as a wake up call!

Ready for this? I got an 11 on my TPR diagnostic. That's right -- an 11. Great, huh? I felt like the biggest ***** on the planet.

I got a 28 on the real deal. It's not a superb score, but going from an 11 to a 28 was good enough for me. Study hard and don't worry about your diagnostic. TPR, especially, is particularly difficult.

yeah i took the tpr class also and their diagnostic has nothing to do with the real test so dont worry too much

my tpr diag looked like:
6/5/10 (PS/VR/BS)

my last tpr i took was in the low 30s, 32 or something. they're trying to scare you with that first one. and the aamcs are never as bad as the tprs.

I got a 25 on the TPR diag a few months ago. Currently getting low 40's on AAMCs. I also retook the diagnostic and went up 9 points, and that was 6 weeks ago.

Just study like crazy, do ALL the content review and ALL the homework and you'll probably be fine. Good luck-

OP, this ^^^ is sound advice.

Don't sweat it yet, you're just getting started.

And don't sweat this guy, because he is an anomaly, which is very evident by his AAMC scores.

OP, there will always be those that score better and worse, but what matters for you now is that you put the time in and bust your butt to get through all the material with a solid understanding. The diagnostic is over and it just said that you're not ready to take the exam today, which you probably already knew.

Good luck!!!

Oh and one more thing! Don't sweat the second diagnostic either. It's harder than the first one and most people's scores went down, including mine. I pushed back my test date because of it and wished I hadn't.

do not worry... i know a lot of people who did low on diagnostic but got 30+ on mcat.

i didn't take mcat yet, but the first free practice test from Kaplan that I took was horrible... a total of 8... and looked something like (Verbal:1, Bio: 4, Phys: 3). i still feel bad about it, but i know after getting in some good content studying done, my scores will vastly improve. i just know it. 👍

Don't feel like !@#$, I definitely agree with everyone else that the diagnostic means nothing and have met many people IRL who have gotten 10-20 and then 31+ on the real.

But I have a question.... When you guys got a low score on the diagnostic (or any specific section), did you think you did better or were you expecting that kind of mark?

I just finished my diagnostic and am waiting for my results... The thing is, I COMPLETELY guessed on physics and orgo because it has been years since I've seen those, but I *think* I did well on verbal and bio, at least. So if I do poorly on those sections, I might feel worse and more panicky than my expected 1 in organic!

Why would you do this?? Your score means nothing if you had to guess on half of the PS and half of the BS sections. Don't take practice exams without completing content review.

:eyebrow: :lame: :annoyed: Whoa, no need to be obnoxious... I only did it because I just had my first Kaplan meeting today where they make you do the diagnostic before anything else. Sure, I would get a higher score if I just completed my prereqs, but there are other students out there who haven't seen certain subjects in years.
