First Interview!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Read up on the school (check your viewbook and/or the website); think about why you want to go there, why you want to be a doctor, and other possible interview questions; try a practice interview with someone; and relax.

Check this Essay Edge site on preparation for the med school interview. The U. of Washington also has a great bioethics site.

Congratulations and best of luck!! 🙂 Where is your interview?

What should i do to prepare????

Congrats! 🙂 That's the second best feeling in this process 😀

If you tell us what school, we may be able to give you some tips from past interviews. 🙂

Definitely try to do a mock interview with an advisor/friend/mentor/etc before your interview, and follow all the other good advice posted above. 🙂

buena suerte!

having returned from my 1st interview at NJMS just yesterday, I'd say don't STRESS!
I guess it depends on the school, but most schools just want to have a conversation.
I found it really really informal.
But do read the interview feedback feature in SDN for your school.

Do at least one mock interview w/ the career office...
Read about the school.. i suggest even reading about the student organizations and seeing which ones you see yourself joining..

Just be very comfortable.... anxiety can be picked up by the interviewer as a sign of insecurity and uncertainty...

Good luck!

Way to go bafanculo!!!!! 😍 😍 😍

Reading some current events (health articles or otherwise) might be helpful in case they ask.

The interview is for Saint Louis U. so if you guys have any specific advice for this school, it would be greatly appreciated.

When are you going to be there? I'll be at St. Louis on the 10th of Sept. Would be cool for another SDNer to be there. 🙂

has anybody received info from st. louis regarding the interview. e.g. how to get to the school from the airport, times, host list, ... i'm trying to schedule my flight right now.

I interviewed there last year. Hopefully the interviewfeedback site will be added soon and travel info will be available. There is a student host program that seems to be decent. I have a friend who stayed with a host on a small bed that was used for cats. Other people that I interviewed with had slightly better results. I actually stayed at an airport hotel. This was very handy.

Whatever you do, do not take a taxi to the school. You can get on the metro at the airport for like $3. It will drop you off on the road that the med school is on. From there you can wait for a shuttle (which is not frequent) or it probably takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the Admissions office. Good luck.

thanks, ninjaboy!
