Im nervous, my first interview is one of the 3-4 schools that i really want to get into (UMDNJ) and i am wondering if it would be smarter for me to reschedule this interview sometime in november or if I shold just jump right on and hope for the best.

Do Not reschedule, early interview the better. Just relax I know its easier said than done but you have the stats be confident in who you are, show them that you are deserving enough and from the stats you worked hard to become a future dentist👍

just remember the earlier you interview - the more spots you're interviewing for!! good luck! calm down! and go kick some ass! 😀

The interviews are nothing but a mental test. Strongest individuals will perform best in these type of questions.

don't reschedule... just be prepared and exude some confidence and you'll be fine... many interviews are pretty laid-back

I agree, the earlier interview tell adcoms that you really consider the school as one of your top choices. Leave November for back-up schools!👍

I agree stick to the early date. One of the interviews has to be first and maybe it will help you for stoney brook interview. At least thats not your first one.

Yeah thats for sure, StonyBrook first woulda had me panicking. I was hoping to get like Tufts, BU, Buffalo, Temple, Pitt or NYU first though. They are my backup schools. You know, i would rather get practice at a school that i dont really think i would ever attend.

Stay with the date. Just be confident, convey to them that you really want this, and stay humble. You'll be fine!!!

Actually the date doesnt matter as long as its pre december 1st. The interviewer doesn't pick as soon as you leave the room or the day is over. Most schools do their interviews and get together a week before december 1st and then make their decision. So there is no difference between october or november. If that school really is one of your top choices then i'd schedule a "practice" interview at one of the schools first. I remember last year I did horrible at my first interview because I was so nervous.

Hi klutzy1987, this is Astral1987,

I am also interviewing there soon, actually this friday morning, 9/26, when is your scheduled interview? maybe i will see you there? o.0 🙂

Yeah same here, my first interview is at one of my top choices...so yep! But im not risking rescheduling or anything, good luck!

I wouldn't be too nervous about UMDNJ...the people that interview there are very nice and I heard it is very laid back. I did an internship there and the admission directors and interviewers were extremely nice and it was more of a conversation than anything.
