I submitted my app on the 16th, but they still don't have my gpa calcualted...i don't know if i'm going to be in the first mailing pack or not. Does it really matter? What's the advantage of getting on the first mailing pack?

The sooner your package goes out the better chances you have of getting in. From my experience its a big advantage having your package go out as soon as possible.
AADSAS takes forever to calculate your gpa, so send your transcripts in ASAP. Try to have that as the first thing u send out to aadsas. They send in your application 4-6 weeks ( i believe thats the timeframe they give) after they receive your transcripts. So you can submit your application after you send ur transcripts.
You want to be in the first mailing. You can still get in from the second mailing, but some interview spots that you could have gotten in the first mailing will be taken.
The sooner the better. I would work right now on sending in your secondaries asap (to the schools who want them sent right when you submit aadsas)
What schools want the secondary at the same time as the AADSAS?
