Tips, tricks? Advice?

Talk to your patient and get to know them. Sometimes we get nervous and narrow-sighted and forget about the person in front of us. That last handshake you get from a patient is because they appreciated the time you took out to get to know them and earn their trust.

It makes each visit afterwards more worthwhile. You got this.

I try to write out a grocery list of supply I need. Set up the ops. Review pt chart. Don't be afraid to ask faculty for help. Also, some schools want you to leave affected dentin so that's a thing to keep in mind. Also, once I numb the pt, I sit them up so the block works a bit more efficiently. While I'm waiting for block, I start my notes and get ready for isolation. Then do procedure. Prep check. Restore. Polish. Restoration check. Dismiss pt. Work on notes. Get Tx note approved.
