First rejection..

Just got my first rejection yesterday from NOVA by mail 🙁
I am getting worried as I have not received any interview invites yet. I am attempting to stay hopeful as I know most of the schools I have applied to have not began sending out invites yet. I applied to 8 schools in the second batch and added 4 more in the sixth batch and I am starting to worry that I did not apply to enough schools...

I have received some interviews... but I was also just rejected from NOVA. Other schools are looking for different things. You'll be fine, just hang in there for a few more weeks.

Interesting. I was actually surprised with NOVA. They only received my application a few days ago, but I received a phone call from them saying they were processing everything and that they needed me to fax them a form. It seemed odd that they would have already begun processing my file, as I've heard next to nothing from most other schools.

I have also applied to 10 schools, and I feel like it's more than enough.

I am happy with my dat scores, however I am nervous about my gpa:
Ogpa : 3.47
BCP : 3.3
sgpa : 3.15 <-- this is what I am super worried about!!

I have lots of ec's like research, dental assisting and volunteering hours, ortho internship and so on but that science gpa is killing me! I wish it was like .2 higher!

Nova also called me to let me know they were processing my application. I was surprised that were already processing it because I just sent it to them last friday.

I think I got the rejection letter too... I'm not home right now, but got the call from my family that I received a letter from NOVA.... sucks.... two years ago, I applied, while everyone was getting rejected from them quite quickly I was actually rejected in May when I applied in September... I guess my improvements on my DAT didn't do much. Perhaps a different adcom reviewed my file this time =). Anyways keep your head up, it's still very early in the game. When I applied in 2010, I didn't get my 2 interviews until January. Good luck!
