So, after taking a short break, I'm starting IM in a month and I have to get back in the studying mode! What is the best way to study during rotations since it is not as structured as the first 2 years?

There are so many books, and I am not sure where to start. What are the recommended (must have!) books for IM and eventually for Step 2 prep.

Thanks

read step up to medicine, do +700 medicine questions in UWORLD

= shelf: 95%

pocket medicine and maxwells for the floor

everything else is a waste of time

I'd recommend MKSAP 3 or 4 for questions in addition to Uworld.

agree with above for reading: emedicine and uptodate, these should be free at the hospital the red internal medicine pocket book is also very good, make sure you get a a pharmacopeia too(if not, rxlist.com is good too) dont waste time with pretest at all

Step up to medicine is all you need. It includes all the other crap people will tell you to buy, and is great for the shelf, pimping, and general management of conditions. Read it little by little and use uptodate to clarify anything you don't understand.
