First Time Volunteering at Red Cross

I am for the first time volunteering at a medical institution (I have never volunteered before anyway). So I went to the American Red Cross, and the training was a bit mediocre. I mean, the woman there just summarized what was on the paper so fast and I didn't get to visualize what the routine is.

So, if one volunteers at the donor center and the canteen, what does he/she typically do in order? I heard something about scanning cards, clicking Name Card on the computer if the person came w/o one, directing people to sit to donate blood, giving people snacks, etc. Please I'd like past experiences.

Relax. You're not going to be running the thing. Just show up and be enthusiastic. Someone will give you a job to do...

It depends on the donor center. However, your main goal as a volunteer is to show that you're helpful and you're able to follow directions.
