Hi,

I have read all the posts in this section. I am extremely interested in rad Onc and have been reading heavily about it. I am a 1st yr medical student at NY college of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). The low incidence of D.O. admissions into a rad onc residency has not deterred me yet. I have read about some general advice to increase my chances. I did glioblastoma research during my undergraduate education and will be continuing in the subject through medical school. My question is specifically regarding programs that offer radiation oncology residencies in long island, NY. I would like to do some volunteer work and get started in the field not just to network but also to confirm my interests.
I would like to know about programs in Nassau/Suffolk/Queens county that are flexible enough to allow medical students to volunteer.

Thanks
