I am hoping to be accepted this cycle and was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased the first year text or maybe even just a couple of the books in advance before starting dental school. Starting to maybe read in advance may help reduce the scholastic pounding you take upon the start of classes and I was wondering if anyone has done this. I am no gunner, but I am finished with my undergrad degree and am currently working and would like to possibly read just a little bit in my free time.

The thing about this is... I've talked to some of the 2nd years, and at least at my school, you don't need most of the books. Also, one of them is letting me borrow his books so I don't have to pay anything.

That being said, I think it couldn't hurt if you really want to. Always better to be ahead of the game.
