Fixed vs. Wide splitting

So FA has Wide and fixed splitting both not being affected by breath...what is the difference between the two, at the end of the day both etiologies (pulmonic stenosis, RBBB in wide; ASD in fixed) has the same notion that it takes longer time for the pulmonic valve to close due to a longer duration of Prv > Ppulmonary artery vs. Plv > Paorta...

there should still be variation in wide splitting with inspiration. it's just "wider" because something is delaying closure of pulmonic valve.

would they ever ask you splitting heart sounds on the step or are murmurs sufficient?

There is a difference between but come on...who could distinguish between them using stethoscope? You are NOT required to distinguish between them even in residency boards!
