I wonder if any neuro PD's or residents may know about this: I was told that per ACGME rules, neuro residents shouldn't do more than three 2-week periods of float per year. I have seen programs with double that...Anyone know anything about this?

The limit on night float is part of the duty hour requirements for pediatric neurology but not adult neurology. The rules for adult neurology residencies is that night float can not be more than 6 consecutive nights and each night float assignment cannot be longer than 2 weeks (half a month)

I'm not sure these documents are clear to me in lay person terms, but I wonder if the PD who informed me of this rule on a recent interview was referring to this at the bottom of page 5?

I can't say with certainty, but I would assume this initial residency review committee (RRC) response did not ultimately get incorporated into the rules, as the second document included is from a later date than the one you posted.
