Mayo Clinic Jacksonville ~ 150hrs spent between CV inpatient and ED. ~ 4hrs per week between Jan 2011 - Jan 2012
Currently trying to get into Shands Jax ED to volunteer..
Physician Shadowing:
Emergency Medicine MD ~ 40hrs at his urgent care clinic.
Research:
Did some non-clinical research (not published) with a Bio professor on antimicrobial activities of a certain cyanobacteria's exudates.
Accepted into Mayo's Clinical Research Internship Program for this summer (2012), begins June 11th.
Nonclinical Volunteer activities:
Officer (treasurer, vice-pres) at university's Pre-Med Society Fall 2011-Spring 2012
Officer (treasurer) at university's AMSA chapter Spring 2012.
Participated in various fund raisers organized through these groups (Relay for life, Light the Night, etc.)
Unemployed
At the moment, I'm planning on applying everywhere in Florida (both MD and DO), and anywhere else that I may be in any way competitive/have a chance.
