Green Monster...how was ur interview...any questions that were hard...i applied to UF but haven't heard back b/c i am using my Jan scores....but overall what did u think? hope u did well

Like they said today it's the student that makes the school!

Congrats Greenmonster! How`d the interview go? Any questions you remember? Were you nervous?

No one will make you live in Apopka.

Yup...I live in orlando, about 25min from school. Apopka is in the middle of nowhere, however: 1) we don't pay for a parking pass, 2) there's never any traffic going to school 3) we don't have to walk 2 miles to class 4) we don't have to worry about vandalism of our cars. I think the benefits much outweigh the risks. Not to mention that there is a ton of stuff to do in orlando, trust me, you won't be without things to do. My first year I went out a bunch and had a great time!

Hope everyones interview went well at the orlando campus..Now we play the waiting game I guess. Anybody hear how long before we should hear something?

I haven't recieved an interview yet but what i have heard from my friends is tha tu do not need to write an essay

PCAT: 80
1 year pharmacy tech at CVS
Pharmacy Assoc. volunteer for monthly newsletter

Appalachian Trail thru-hiker 2002

I know there are many more impressive resumes out there, so I feel pretty honored to be accepted.

Congrats! Your stats look awesome. Anything in the interview they seem particularly interested in?

I hope to have similar stats when I apply for the Jacksonville campus next year.

Hope I get an invite for the second round of interviews. I put St Pete as my first choice and Gainesville as second. Did anyone interview with their second choice? I wonder how all that works.

Dr. McKenzie said that they would probably be sending something out to us by the end of this coming week. (I interviewed at the Gainesville campus this past Friday.)

Hey guys,

I interviewed at Gainesville last Friday... I guess I'm back to stalking my mailman again... poor guy.

If anyone hears something, please post it.

Good luck to you all,

for all of those who are worried about getting accepted after already having an interview...

a little birdie told me that as long as you can speak english (well), the interview is just a formality.

finally being a white american will pay off in terms of admissions!

I'm still worried. I don't think I did that well in the interview... :meanie:

The interview wasn't too bad. The interview itself only lasted 15 minutes max. We all had to sign a confidentiality agreement but I think that it is okay to share the general format. (I hope.) We had a brief introduction by Dr. McKenzie, question and answer session with current students while we all waited for our turns to interview, then a student-led tour, and finally another question and answer session with Dr. McKenzie. They had a really nice food setup too, though I was too nervous to really eat anything. I think that is all I am at liberty say though... sorry guys.

We had granola bars at St. Pete. I waited until after the interview to eat one though. I didn't want to risk spewing oats & honey on Dr. Scolaro.

does anybody know how florida is about non-resident applicants?! im from chicago but plan on applying in florida.

I was replying to a post by ageldred about the campus of choice, I guess I should have mentioned that... UF is my first choice...

UF is my first choice but if I don't get in there I'll go to Nova where I've already been accepted.

I meant did everyone interview at their first choice campus for UF?

I was worried about not getting an interview being a non-resident, I am from Ohio and interviewed on March 9, so as long as you are competitive you will have a chance. 🙂

They are interviewing more students than they have seats for, so not everyone with an interview will be accepted. But, being able to speak english well is a requirement of the COP. There's lots of presentations and you have to be able to communicate.

since florida is a public school, of course they will be taking mostly florida residents

I go to UF in Gville for undergrad but applied for my 1st choice in Orlando and I interviewed there. Most of the other students interviewing there did NOT put Orlando as a first choice however. The way Dr. McKenzie has told us in the past is that its easier for the current UF students to get their first choice at the Gainesville campus bc they currently live there. They have such a high demand for students wanting to go to Gainesville that a good bit of students applying from other places may end up at their 2nd choice location. This is not definitely true, but how Dr. Mckenzie has explained it. It also matters how good your explanation was! Hope this helps!

True. But Dr. Mckenzie said himself they are planning on and hoping to accept all of the students from the first round of interviews ( Orlando-March 2, Gville, St.Pete- March 9, Jax- March30) They are interviewing 350 and accepting 300- but you have to take into account soem students that interview will not choose to attend. At my interview date the dean told us there were several people that denied the interview all together.

I just wanted to let you all know... I got my ACCEPTANCE letter today in the mail!!! I interviewed on March 2 and Orlando campus!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀
