Okay guys, Flu season is here! So I asked two pharmacists who wasn't sure of this question.

What is the steroid cut-off for getting a flu shot? Live vaccine?

I thought it was 5mg prednisone or equivalent since it was the physiologic dose anyhow. CDC says 20mg or greater is the cutoff if less than 2 weeks. What have you heard?

fixed

Well, you gotta ask yourself why the flu vaccine is contraindicated with steroids in the first place. Immunosuppression right. If 5mg is, like you say, the physiological dose it doesn't seem likely to cause significant immunosuppression. The CDC range is correct.
