so i just took my DAT for the THIRD time today. i wasnt ready for it but was too late to reschedule the test so i just took it and im really depressed now.

last year: this year
PAT: 21 : 17 🙁
AA:19: 20
QR:20: 21
RC:16: 16
BIO:17:18
OCHM:23: 21 🙁
GCHM:20: 22
TS:19 : 20

i know its not stellar but it isnt bad either. but my undergraduate gpa is super low (3.07 overall and 2.97 scienc major in biochm)
i applied to 13 schools (all oos private schools) last july but didnt get a SINGLE interview. i graduated in december and since then only thing i have been doing was studying for the DAT until today. i feel like i just wasted 6 months 🙁
im definitely doing 1 year's masters program but now im worried if i should apply this year with my stat...

With a 16 RC (very important section) and 17 PAT and a sub 3.0 sGPA, I wouldn't apply. You should probably petition to retake that DAT for a fourth time and enter a post-bacc or Master's program ASAP.

Here's the thing!
Dental schools don't really like it if an applicant takes the DAT more than 3 times.
So, this is pretty much as good as your DAT scores will get.
Now, a PAT score of 17 and a RC score of 16 could become problematic. But considering the fact that it was your 3rd time, you won't have a chance to improve those scores anymore.
If you think your scores have improved compared to your previous tests, then I recommend you still apply. Improvement is what many schools are looking for.

Good Luck👍

You can't go back in time and fix things but I'll tell you what you did wrong. Instead of retaking the DAT and studying for it for six months, you should have spent that time taking higher level science courses to increase your GPA. 16 on RC is not stellar but combined with low GPA, it is problematic. Plus that was the only low score on your last DAT, which could have been over looked if the GPA was higher.

page 3 details that you must be "actively seeking admission to a dental school" to take the DAT more than three times. that said, i've read that many schools don't take more than three scores either. you may want to to check into seeing if your schools do. for example, i don't think VCU takes more than 3 scores
