Anyone out there in residency have any experence with performing Ultrasound FNA's of the thyroid or whatever? And for those out there practicing cound someone charge for the tech and professional component if they did them? Is it worth it? Any thoughts:luck:

I have experience doing both FNA under US and CT guidance. Yes its worth it. But no, likely any academic center you are at this will be under the control of rads and endocrine. Oddly, someone once left me in charge of teaching fellows how to do this, so I picked it up on the fly. Spectacular reimbursements if you can set it up. In fact Im considering doing it next year sometime.
