I know this sounds silly but I'm snail mailing in my last application. I was just going to buy a big envelope but my mom suggested folding it into 3 and putting it in a smaller envelope. Then I began to wonder if this looks unprofessional. What do you guys think?

I have never mailed any application via USPS and have always sent in physical items via UPS or FEDex with delivery confirmation. This was more so I knew it got there and who had it. Both of these methods I have folded it and not folded it. It doesn't matter. I mean think about it do you see an adcom opening the app and going wow he/she has everything just perfect but these folds.... ummm rejected.... Please. Just send it in.

lol, I had this same concern; however I crossed my fingers and got an interview 3 weeks later. No worries.

It should be fine.

I am, however, slightly annoyed that admissions offices still use paper applications in this day and age.

I mailed my Mizzou secondary in a trifold. Got an ii.

Add both PCOMs, LMU (although they cited an ongoing issue with their electronic system), TouroCA, and I think TouroNY.

Pretty sure Touro NV does too.

Schools are too cheap to pay the merchant fees and they'll charge you a buttload to hold your seat.

Based on everyone's responses, it looks like it doesn't matter. Regardless, I mailed mine unfolded in a larger, thicker envelope because I didn't want it to get bent.
