Hi,
I am interviewing 8/30 at WVSOM. I am trying to get any info I can to prepare. I have been reading over the past descriptions and looking at the questions. My wife and I have reservations at the Gen. Lewis Inn which gave us half price since I am interviewing. Anyone have any info they want to share or want to PM me?

Hi Aaron,

I am just seeing if I can meet some of the other folks interviewing there and maybe discuss what travel and other aspects of the event they may have learned about--rental cars, hotels, places to check out when my wife and I are there, etc.

PS-Aaron those photos of Kentucky are beautiful!!!

The resteraunt Food & Friends would be a nice place for dinner. Lewisburg is a quaint town nestled in the Greenbrier Valley of southeastern West Virginia. You might also want to walk around downtown some. Some attractions I can think of are The Greenbrier Hotel, Organ Cave, and Lost Caverns.

I stayed at the Gen. Lewis Inn for my interview at WVSOM last year. The Gen. Lewis Inn is nice, and I don't want to scare you, but there is actually a rumor that it is haunted. 😱 Again, don't let that rattle you. 😎 My best advice is to not let your guard down, because you are being watched throughout the entire interview process. Also, study up on their different learning tracks and try to relax and show them that you belong in a medical school situated in a small West Virginia town. If you think Kentucky is beautiful, then just wait till you see W. Virginia! Good Luck!

A few words of advice... relax. The interview process at WVSOM is mostly painless. Everyone is super friendly and helpfull. Wear comfortable shoes (always good advice 😉 ) and be yourself. Several other people will be interviewing on the same day... I found that visiting with them helped to diffuse my stress levels a little. If I can answer any particular questions, please pm me. Good Luck

I am a first year student at WVSOM. The interview was laid back and easy going. You do breakfast at the general lewis inn, then you meet the admissions staff then you interview. Afterwards you get a tour of the school. I chose WVSOM over the MD school I got accepted to because I like it here so much. The staff are cool and the PBL program I am in is the most fun I've ever had learning, period.

If you have specific questions, email me: [email protected] 😉
