Anyone have an idea of the different jobs food animal specialists do compared to GP vets? And their income? Would it even be worth it to specialize?

Food Animal Practice is one of the options of gaining certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).....it does not require a residency and is pursued by active practitioners (minimum 5 years of clinical practice) who want to improve their knowledge and skills. I know several ABVP diplomats in different areas, but they all did it for personal education and academic achievement, not for improved income. It might make you a more attractive applicant for a job, but they're typically not higher paying jobs.
