Food Microbiology as experience??

Might be a super dumb question, but is food microbiology a good experience to have when applying to vet school? I have >2,000 hours of veterinary experience, and I was looking to expand my range of experiences, so I wanted to see if I could get a job in a lab.

Do what you want. There are no set experiences schools want specifically besides broad categories. If you want to go try being in a lab, do it.
