2 part question:

I just found out that I needed to have taken my prereqs for U of Maryland FIVE YEARS prior to admissions. This is the school I would really like to attend, but if they are strictly adhering to this rule, then I am completely out of the running.

I graduated in 1997 with a bio degree. I got As in every single prereq class. I have worked in a biochem/molecular bio lab for several years. I also have a master's in molecular bio which includes biochem courses. I don't think I should have to take these courses AGAIN.

First part: Has anyone been able to get out of this ridiculous requirement?

2nd part: Are there other schools who do the same?

Please help! I don't want to take undergrad organic again. . once was enough!

I took my prereqs over 5 years ago when I applied for Maryland, but they still accepted me. Just apply anyway and call admissions if you have any questions.

I would call them up and explain the situation. While they have an email address that will answer questions, I've had better luck with a phone conversation because of the two-way nature.

That's great news! Would you mind if I contacted you privately for additional questions?

I appreciate it. That was my plan anyway, but it's nice to have some hope. 😀

Are you a Maryland student?
