I've been considering which CC to go to, and I'm a little torn between taking classes at Hunter or Hostos CC. While it's true that Hunter has the supportive post-bacc community, Hostos is cheaper and has more night classes (which is a lot more convenient for me.) Hostos is part of the CUNY system, as is Hunter, but will Hunter's name give it an edge when I end up applying?

as a student in the cuny system i would advise you to go to hunter because not only are medical schools not impress by 4.0 in community college but hostos does not have a great reputation among cuny...e.g: the CPE started after controversy arose with hostos giving degrees to students who were not competent... so Hunter is the way to go plus many of the med schools would actually tell you are better off doing a postbac at hunter than at nyu.
