I read online that when you write a letter of intent to the Dean or Director of Admissions, you should cc the person who interviewed you, if the interview went well.

Is that correct advice? I am thinking of writing a letter of intent, but I just want to make sure if I should do this or not.

Thank you so much.

Don't waste the interviewer's time. You fate has already been determined and it's unlikely that a love letter will have the interviewer to do anything better than what they've already done.

And most Admissions Deans treat LOIs as lies. How would you deal with a nonbinding contract from a desperate candidate?

just the dean
common advice seems to be to send one if
1. you are waitlisted or deferred post interview
2. you have another acceptance that you can namedrop in the letter

Thank you. I also got an acceptance from another school, so I guess I might mention that.
