are we to call ourselves "doctors?"

i ask because my med school's osce made a very big deal about not impersonating a doctor while you're still a medical student.

They will snidely call you doctor all day.

I personally introduced myself by first and last name throughout the whole day, b/c my school also strongly emphasized the importance of not misleading the patient. It doesn't matter as long as you introduce yourself in some way. However, the proctors and patients are trained to call you "doctor".

I introduced myself as exactly what I am. Proctors and patients called me "doctor" throughout the day, but then again this also happens in the hospital setting. It didn't feel right to introduce myself as "doctor" when I wouldn't be taking the darn exam if I had my MD (considering I'll be a US grad).
