Hanging out with the big boys is so surreal. Riding the mountain with them is out of this world. Being in the Alaska backcountry is indescribeable for me. I'm sure Jet could put words to it though. We are thrown in with the pros of TGR and RAGE films. Riding the same lines and drinking the best tequila.

If you guys look at the saddle there that we took down (approx 45 degree at the top) you can see a small peak or knob sticking up on the right of the saddle. That is where we landed the chopper and then climbed down to the saddle. Everything just got steeper yesterday.

Very nice! Did they fly over and blow those avalanches before you skiied? Personally, I'm going on 30+ backcountry days this year and not really looking forward to starting residency in San Diego next year. This thread does give me some hope. BTW, which mountain range is the picture from? I'm jealous, very jealous.

Dude, I don't get it, maybe i'm gettin' too old. Ya spend all day hikin' up the damm mountain and 5 minutes snowboardin' down it. I'd do it if ya promise me ya can get me back up to the top in 5 minutes sans whirlybird--maybe in a blown snow crawler with a heated cabin? No such luck? thanks Jet, The adventure was amazing. Best vacation I have ever taken BY FAR. You can't imagine how steep those mountains are. We did over 30,000 ft of vertical descent one day and believe me it doesn't take long to go down 5000 ft. The only thing to slow you down is the cliff band looming below ready to suck your lame arse over it. Atually 2 folks died within the last 2 weeks out there (not with us) after flip floping over a cliff band. 😱

I went on a much smaller vacation recently but very fun nonetheless....

I went to Whistler in Canada. That place is the coolest ski place I have ever been. It really is incredible. They have a 7 mile run from top to bottom. That is a much different experience than some of the other hills around here at seattle. On one hill, I timed my decent and it took exactly 63 seconds from the top to bottom.

I love skiing...........

No HAPE. No HACE. But I did come back with a pretty nasty cough. The peaks were 6000ft tops. I live at 7000ft. So that was an added bonus. I was at lower elevation than my house. It was amazing, when my legs start burning here in Colorado at 10-14,000 it doesn't go away very easy. Up in AK the burn resolved as soon as I stopped and my legs were ready to go almost immediately.

Yes they do allow motorcycles. Except they call them snowmobiles up there. You would dig the snowmobiles, they are fast as ****.
