For those who are doubting your chances because of a poor performance in your earlier years, I am just writing to give some of you hope and to tell you to not give up. I had a 2.6 after several years of schooling, including several F's and numerous withdrawls. I'm talking 14 W's easy. I started over from scratch and managed to get a 3.7 for the remaining years for an overall of 3.42 after tons of additional credits.

Anyhow, to those who have messed up and are thinking they have ruined their chances, there is still hope. I managed to get into my top choice school and had numerous interview invites, even with my poor beginning. I was like some of you and had nearly given up hope over the years and kept wondering if it was worth the effort and time. Well, I think it is, if you truly desire to be a doc and put in the time and effort. Admissions committees will notice your passion and drive and will take that into consideration.

So, I hope this helps some of you out there at least, and wish you all luck with the remainder of the application season.

My first choice was PNWU-COM in Yakima, Washington. My fiancee is very interested in working on an indian reservation and can get her loans paid back for PA school and a reservation is very close to Yakima. Also, I wanted to remain in Washington State and was more interested in osteopathic schools than I was in applying to UW.

So, it worked out well. I can make my fiancee and her family happy with our location and I can be happy by attending a school that I am interested in and is in a location that I prefer.

Anyhow, that is my story, I wish you all well and if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.

Thank you for sharing! Very encouraging to us Non-Trads who didn't do so well in the past.

Your story is close to mine...except you're 4 years ahead of me with the ending I want. 😀

Real quick question, is PNW COM a public school? I am also from Washington.

uhh, n/m I found the answer I was looking for on their website.
• 76% – Percentage of students from five (5) state region attending first class of PNWU. PNWU is committed to meeting our goal of drawing students from the Pacific Northwest and encouraging them to practice in the 5 state region.
