The general idea of each stays the same for the most part.. however I never was able to copy and paste whole essays.. they are usually nuanced to a degree.

Most of the essays this cycle were the same as the last cycle.

Yeah. Just skip the ones that pre-screen and you’re off to a great start. If you really have a lot of time in the end, then write the ones that pre-screen.

for the few that do change though it's a huge bummer lol... Definitely worth doing though, I had a huge amount of trouble staying motivated to pre-write them and was really behind when they all started rolling in


Also, if your're an applicant for the next cycle (its pretty late to consider pre-writing for this one...) I'd wait until May or June to start. A lot changes between now and then!

For vast majority of them, prompts you see today will be prompts for next year. You can find them in school specific threads. Some will change every year (VCU, for example)

Not that many schools prescreen and the majority that do just have a stat criteria. The UCs screen pretty heavily though and actually look at your personal statement/ECs.

IMO, it was the process of pre-writing the secondaries that was really helpful.

I ended up keeping big chunks of some of them, and chopping others to pieces, but practing drafts of the typical questions before being under a time constraint was very useful to expedite turning out good secondaries. (At least, I hope they're good!)
