The interview questions listed on this site's feedback repository are officially useless to you. They changed the questioning format. They are going to the interviewing format where they try to dig into life experience to pull out answers to questions. For instance, they will ask something like, "Tell us a time in which a student in a work group you were in didn't pull their weight and what you did about the situation." It's the same type of questions they ask in corporate job interviews nowadays.

Have they sent out Supp. Apps or interview invites yet? It seems like they're taking forever.

They should have started with the folks at the upper end of the spectrum by now. I'm pretty sure I got my interview notice in Feb some time...of course that was back when there was no PharmCAS and dinosaurs roamed the earth...

I just received and sent in my secondary application yesterday.

Can anyone tell me how many of the secondary applicants get an interview from your personal knowledge/experience?

Also, I've been getting mixed messages about getting in state tuition for the second year. If you move there with your spouse and she works full-time for a year and you own a home and register to vote and open a bank account, could you get in-state? Anyone do this successfully???

Thank you,

Mike

I have my interview on Wednesday the 6th.

Anyone else hear anything from WVU?

S_R_N83,

Question for you. You asked on 1/28 if they sent out secondary applications or held interviews yet, and then 3 days later, stated you had an interview.
Did you just get the secondary on 1/29 and overnight it to them and then get the interview instantly?

If so, that is a super-fast turn-around.

(The question below is for everyone)
Please let me know how long it takes to get an interview yay or nay after you return your secondary applicaiton.

Thanks,

Mike

It was very fast. Sent my supp app to them on the 29th, and got an interview invite on the 31st.

I turned my supplemental in on 1/30 and got the interview invite on 1/31. Perhaps they don't have to see the supplemental application for everyone before they give interviews. My interview is also on Wed 2/6/08 at 1:45.

WVUPharm2007: do you think having a pharmacy and non-pharmacy issue to talk about would still be a good idea?? I heard there was a bank of 100 questions.. they'd ask about 20 and there are about 5 sets of similar 20 questions. I heard this earlier in the year from Tom McIntire at the school of pharmacy so it could have changed.

Wow! That is fast!!

One more question, did they contact you by email or by phone for the interview?

Thanks

I received the interview in the mail. That's why I think it was sent before I returned my supplemental. I do know that they only interview approximately 2x the number they intend on admitting (so... they will interview about 185). Also, not everyone who gets a supplemental will be offered an interview. Therefore, I'm not sure what their process is. Perhaps they send interviews to the top 25% before receiving the supplementals?😕 No idea.

Hope that helps and good luck!!

Thank you,

My wife has had residency switched, gotten voters reg, has a letter from her employer saying she will work in state after school, bought property, has a husband since 2005 that is a native WVian...and she STILL pays out of state. What I understand is that YOU have to take a year off and be employed during that time....at least that's what they told her. It is indeed lame...

And as mentioned above, they interview roughly twice as they admit, so I'd guess 150-180 interviews. They like to say that you have a 50-50 shot once you get an interview...
