that does sound like a huge waste of money given that it is heavily weighted towards the second year in most curricula.

Laying out by the pool works extremely well.

Seriously....there will be plenty of time to study for Step 1. I think it's a little unwise to waste the short break between MS1 and MS2, and you might set yourself up for a case of burnout. Just my $0.02 though.

Do yourself a favor and get involved in some research instead. That and the aforementioned pool time should keep you plenty busy.
