Hey, I just got accepted to my school of choice. Now that we are excepted is there anything that we should be doing to develop hand skills? Someone once said to build models, etc. I think thats real gay so I wont be doing that. Painting may be more interesting but its really expensive.

Any suggestions appreciated?

you can start with spelling "accepted" right, j/k! If you haven't picked up the hand skills prior to school just enjoy the time before school starts, they'll have plenty of practice for you.

JOKE! Does anyone get it?

I need a correction accept where?

I love how people get on SDN to just be mean to others and to correct spelling and grammar.

Do you people have lives? Why not either stick to my post of get off and go to bed.

Are you staying up all night on this computer to just be mean to others?

ITS NOT PRODUCTIVE AT ALL.

Havent been accepted to anything, but sculpting might be something that helps manual dexterity. Im in a sculpting class right now and a lot of the detailed work helps build manual dexterity and hand eye cooridination. Can be kind of expensive though.

video games, simply best builder-upper of hand skills ever.. I attribute all my ridiculous MOMA-worthy wax-ups to years of Halo training.

I love this question. I too have been thinking about what to do so that when I start DS my waxings actually resemble teeth, at least a little. I have a friend that goes to UAB and he said that most of the kids in his class who are really good at waxing got that way because they worked in a dental office before they came in...uh...call me crazy, but I really don't think that my dentist has a waxing room in his practice. So then, how does one practice this skill? Even if I played around and used candle wax or something handy like that, how do I know if it really resembles a tooth anyway? I mean (this may be sac religious to say on SDN) I don't actually have teeth lying around. What's a girl to do?

Ya know what, ever since I have been playing halo 2 constantly, I do seem to have a steadier hand than I used to, maybe its just coincidence.

Mr. Pickle man or whatever has emerged as the "funny-man" of the forum.

I say we shift gears and dedicate this thread entirely to telling Mr. Pickle man how funny and witty he is.

I'll start, Mr. Pickle, You are so funny.

Here, i'll start my own thread just like Mr. Pickle. UHHH does anyone know what I can do to improve my hand skills before I start DS? What a lame question to begin with. Figure it out. Or do you need somebody to to help you?

The only thing that made this thread worthwhile was reading JessicaSimpson's comment. The rest was basically study time going to waste.

Hey your post just helped the coordination of my right middle finger. After I read it for some reason my middle finger went straight up at the monitor.

Wow, now both middle fingers are pointed at you!

Thanks, that improved those, now only 8 digits left.

Ya! If you can't even insult people how in the hell do you ever expect to be a great dentist? You need to be able not only to help people but insult the hell out of them as well. Looks like you better choose a new profession.

After carving the wood, you can also polish it at least once a day. A lot of people say they carve wood, but I think you should be frank in your application about polishing it as well.

you know, I am scared to carve wood. I dont want to cut off my fingers.

I gaurantee that you could never EVER even get wood on a fastball, let alone be able to see a breaking ball. As a matter of fact, I bet 3/4 of the people on the planet couldnt catch a fly ball at the warning track. Baseball is harder than football and basketball (althougth football is more exciting to watch because its faster).. in order from easiest to hardest..
football
basketball
baseball
hockey
Any sports not listed above are NOT sports.

I'm not sure I'd bet on that one...ever try to deflect a slapshot with a little hockey stick with someone hitting you in the back of the head at the same time...or save it once it's been deflected and completely changed directions. He is called HOCKEYdentist.
