I also got this interview invitation from Temple on saturday.. and I am trying to call and schedule.. but it s guiving busy signals the whole day.. it s funny.

have any of you scheduled already ? is it this hard to call them up and make an appointment??

BTW the number I dialed was 1 800 4414363

I got one too on Saturday but I haven't called yet because I thought if I get one from Pittsburg (or hopefully UPenn) I would combine the trips

you should call and schedule your appt and then if you get a chance to combine trips reschedule. that way you at least reserve a spot earlier.

im such an idiot..the only time i got through today i managed to schedule a really bad day. Now I have to call again to reschedule.

BTW the "last" Friday interview day will be Nov 10th

Yeah, I finally got through. Guess I was just lucky. But they're booked pretty much until november. I was lucky enough to get a november 1st date.

Keep calling!!

I woke up early here on the West coast to try and get a good date. I will be at Temple on Oct. 25th. I let the phone ring and ring for about 5 min. until someone answered.

finally got through and rescheduled for Nov 7th

With the temple U rates its gonna be:
$99/night for comfort inn
$12x/night for best western
$89/night for hampton inn

I got the call on saturday as well, scheduled for 10/24, anyone wanna split a room? Looks like it'll save us 50 bucks at least.

I have an interview on Nov. 7th 😀

Hey everyone, I just interviewed at Temple on Wednesday. You guys are going to love it there!

Brian is the guy that will show you around, and he is fantastic. You will not find a better school clinically. The school is located in a location that is prime for seeing many, many patients.

We met with a guy that is just starting his 3rd year, and he has already done 3 root canals! I really hope I get into Temple. I think I'll have far more exposure to proceedures and patients there than at most other schools.

Some of the questions they asked us in the interview were a little funky. But nothing stressful. They split us up into groups of 4 and each group interviewed with a different person. I guess it depends on who you meet with, but our interview was very laid back. One of the other groups I guess was not as laid back...

Anyway, good luck.

hey billy...can u share the quest been asked during interview?? did u ask the interviewer for email to send the thankyou note?
thanxxx

I didn't get an email address from my interviewer, but Brian gave everyone his card, and anything we email to him will be put in our file, and the interviewer will see it.

Remember that the questions that are asked are completely based on who interviews you. There were 3 groups interviewed by different people. I was interviewed by Dr. Sisson, she teaches some of the pre-clinical labs I guess.

Aside from the regular quesitons(why do you want to be a dentist), most of her questions delt with ethics, asking us what we would do in certain situations. She asked us what we think should be done with the destruction caused by hurricane katrina (to what extend is the government responsible to fix things, etc.), she asked us if someone came to you as a dentist and wanted all their teeth extracted would you do it, and she asked if there should be individuals trained as "dental therapists" that recieve 2 years of training to go and work on people in very remote area's where there are no dentists, and a great need (i.e. remote alaska)

It was very relaxed. She was extremely respectful of us, and overall I felt it was a good experience. She had some paper work in front of her but didn't fill any of it out, giving her full attention to us. I was very impressed.

It's great to hear something positive about this school. My two questions would be, what did you think of the "very dangerous" area. And how do temple students do on the boards... is didactic training sufficient?

Just got the Letter Today (9/29) offering me an invitation for an interview! This is going to be my first one. Too bad I got the letter too late to call today, looks like I am going to have to wait until Monday.

Just called today (10/2) and got my interview scheduled for Wednesday November 8th
