For those who have interviewed at EVMS

Hi everyone. When I interviewed at EVMS they told us that we should receive a letter within the next 3 weeks if we were either rejected or waitlisted. They said if we didn't hear by 3 weeks then to call, and they could tell us our status, but that it probably meant we were accepted and they just can't send the letter till the 15'th. My 3 week date is very near, and I am trying not to get my hopes up too high, because I'm kind of afraid to call and have them just say "woops, we forgot to mail your rejection 2 weeks ago, sorry." Has anyone heard anything at all from them, post interview? Or, did I misunderstand what they were telling us? Thanks for any info!

interviewed on the 8th; called them and they said that i should call back in a few more weeks (imagine the feeling) 😱

Thanks for the reply harmless.So, do you think that meant that you're in and they won't say till the 15'th? Or did they act like they hadn't made their decision yet? I'm debating about calling tomorrow...or maybe I'll wait till Mon. and give the mail a few more days to deliver something. Anyone else hear absolutely anything at all?

i asked them if my application had gone to the committe yet - answer was "No, not yet; try us back in another 3 weeks" - which puts me into october 15th (keeping in mind that i called them on a wednesday, and i know that they are interviewing on wedsnesdays - so they were probably busy etc); i think i might call them tomorrow (i might wait til someone says in this thread that they called and actually got an answer - i don't want to seem pushy, you know?) 😕

Not gone to committee? Didn't they say that it would all go to committee the week after the interviews? Either they just were trying to get off the phone, or they've had some serious time delays for something or other. If I get home from class in time, I'll call today, and post what they say. Today is my 3 week mark. Anyone else out there?

why don't you just wait until a few days after the 3 week period. my goodness, I can just imagine what the front office ppl are saying. not trying to be funny, but if they said 3 weeks then at least give them that. 😉

Other than a rejection, I don't think they can tell us anything until after Oct. 15. I would expect something in the mail on or around that day with either a wait-list decision or acceptance. They don't have to wait until Oct. 15 to reject people. From my understanding, they do try to let people know where they stand pretty early.

I was at EVMS. My take was that you'd hear within 3 weeks of the interview.

Well curiosity got to be too much for me today, so I called. They said that my file hadn't gone to committee yet, so to try back next week! What's up with that? They explicitly told us 3 weeks. I thought I'd at least have been reviewed by now. Argh. Not gonna call anymore. I think I'll just wait on the mail man.

I got an email from them today.

The lady told me that she knew I "had interviewed well, and hopefully my application will go before the full committee soon"...don't know that that helps you, MG, but know that we are, apparently, in the same boat.

I interviewed on the 8th and called last Thursday to ask them. They told me that I should probably call in next week. I don't know if I will call tomorrow though.

I interviewed on the 8th, called yesterday (oct 4th) and was told in a kinda unofficial way that I was accepted, they said that they would be sending out the "official" letter soon. 😀

thats awesome desert cat! i interviewed on the 17th and am debating calling them now because of your post...however, I don't recall them saying anything about letting us know in 3 weeks. Does this turnaround only apply to those who interviewd on the 8th?

I had trouble decided whether to call or not too, I only remember them saying that the earliest they can make a decision was oct 1st. I think they said to call if you hadn't received anything by the 10th, so I jumped the gun if thats right, but when I called they were really cool about it regardless, so...

I actually just moved a month ago, so I just called to change my address. I made my ulterior motive plainly obvious and they informed me that people who interviewed on the 17th have not gone to committee yet.

Hey desertcat, congrats on the acceptance. That must feel awesome. I'm too chicken to call now, however, so we'll see what the mail man brings in the next couple weeks 🙂

I'm gonna wait for the official - no phone calls from me. It's not "official" until it's "official". I'm interested to see what the financial package will be like if I am accepted. I'm an out-of-stater, and that's gonna run me 54K a year...

What do you guys think about calling/emailing on the 15th? They seem to be pretty receptive, and it would be nice to know if you've even gone to committee. It'll be past the three-week mark, so maybe it won't look too impatient?
