**My intention is not to attack anyone, please do not take offense to my comments.**
I have been reading this forum for some time now. My husband is a FTD and is currently applying to schools and I have to say something.
One trend I have noticed is many people apply to schools and go to interviews with no intention of attending because either they don't like the school, can't afford the school, already accepted in their dream school or they are just bored and cruel and ruining it for others, grow up please.
If you have no intention of attending the school don't apply, don't go to the interview and don't ruin for the others out there. for example...
If one cannot extend common courtesy and use their judgment, I seriously doubt they have the maturity to be a physician. Grow up please, it's sad that these individuals one day will earn their doctorate and will be treating patients. Yeah, yeah yeah, I know the world is not a perfect place, but show some maturity, drop this childish behavior, or be smart and don't post it.
Hey, if you have some insight on why people do this, please post your comments, I would like to understand why this occurs.
On a positive note, I would like to say thank you to those who decline interviews to schools because they are already in their dream school and those who do the right thing.

- there are those who go to the interview who say they cannot afford the school....you go to the interview come back then post on SDN that you cant go to the school because it is too expensive...well what about the $600 you spent to go to the interview, if you can't "afford it" how can you afford to waste $600 for the interview...
- then there are those who are already in the dream school and go to the interview to visit the city...are you serious? the school isnt paying for your accommodation or transportation so why dont you go visit the city on your own time freely and enjoy yourself rather than boring yourself with a school you are not interested in.
