For those with extenuating circumstances

Your story is inspiring. I also lost my mother to cancer when she was 53. That happened when I was in my first year of dental hyginene school and in my second year I lost both of my grandparents. So in two years I had three funerals. Three weeks before I started dental hgyiene school I had a baby by a c-section, so you can imagine my stress. I graduated with 3.70 GPA, but it was in a community college. Now I have GPA of 3.64. DAT 18/20/20 and I had one interview at my top choice school UMD, but I did not get accepted yet. I just hope that I will have a similar story like yours, and get accepted this year to UMD.
