I am a foreign trained dentist from India. I arrived in the USA several months ago and I am still very confused how can I get a license to work as a dentist. The rules are very confusing and very unclear. I know that each state has its own rules and I am having a hard time understanding the rules.

Are you familiar with any online resources that can help me understand the steps I need to take to receive my dental license in a particular state in the USA?

Does anyone know of any services, like admissions consultants, that I can contact to help me?

Hi, I am already in the process of applying and interviewing. let me know what do you want to know and what kind of help do you need. for starters, you take the TOEFL, NBDE part 1 and 2 exam. since that is the main deal for both entering any school and for licensing too. yes, different states have different rules and there is a book sold on the ADA website which enlists all the information regarding licencing for the foreign-graduates. Is there a specific state you are planning to practice or you are open to any place?

@ortho_mds thank you so much for your information.

I actually spoke with the Strategic Professional Pathways advisers that @rakeshpool82 recommended above. I will be working with them starting this month. I like that they are going to work with me one on one to make my applications stronger. I'm really hopeful now.

Thanks again for your help
