Hey everyone. Hoping someone out there can help. I just wanna look at some options. Since I'm foreign trained, I don't mind working in any state under a practicing dentist... But the question is, I'll be working as what? As an RDA? As a dental hygienist? What can passing Part 1 actually do for me? 🙄

Thanks a bunch!! 😀

Reality check: Part I does not make you eligible for any sort of employment. What it does however, is make you eligible to register for part II, that's about it.
As far as jobs go (assisting, hygiene), you need to check with your state board requirements, as they vary greatly. The norm is an assistant certificate and x-ray license for assistants and hygiene license for hygienists (FL only). You may need your part I (and II) scores for the hygiene application, if you decide not to do the NBDH exams (dental hygiene boards).
