First my disclaimer:
I think I?m suffering from PWSD ? Perpetual Waitlist Stress Disorder.

Now my issue-

The whole waitlist process is a backa$$wards system. Obviously waitlists must exist in order to fill a class, but it should be dealt with more expeditiously. I understand that it is very difficult for 126 medical schools to effectively coordinate their admissions process, but someone has to do something about how waitlists work. It doesn?t really make sense to have literally thousands of applicants anxious for months about where they are going to end up for the next 4 years. It?s unproductive and very tenuous for all parties involved, students and to a lesser extent admissions staff. I don?t understand why medical schools don?t just set a couple of additional deadlines in June and July in order to solidify their enrollment by the end of July max. By doing so all the schools would fill their classes and there wouldn?t be any last minute back stabbing with day before class acceptance offers, resulting in a vile game of musical chairs. These day before class admission offers result in unnecessary expense to students and sometimes an unfilled seats, which some waitlisted student would have been happy to fill if class hadn?t already started.

Medical school should be a partnership between student and University; the waitlist process sure makes it seem like a one-sided relationship. I could only fathom the number of wasted man hours and burnt out nerves as a result of this disorganized waitlist system: Reform is needed!!!

I have completed my rant and I rest my case.

?I?m waitlisted and I approve this message?
