Someone once gave me the name of a great book...

Basically, it was a quick refrence for ER, but not the standard kind...it was a book you could look in when panicking on your first case, and it would walk you through standard approaches to common ER cases..what do I give for a cold, what to do with an abcess, how to approach cardiac patient...

I remember on Amazon, I think the cover was red frame with white center...

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks...

mmmmm no thanks but that's not it....it wasn't a big name...the cover was like funny, like a cartoonish drawing or something....wasn't a serious book like Tintinalli or Rosen

thats a good book for minor procedures (I & D, ear foreign body removal, etc) and minor emergencies (UTI, basic fractures, HA, eye problems), wont be helpful for approaches to things like abd pain, CP, SOB, etc. I recommend pocket emergency medicine if you are new to EM and handling higher acuity (not fast track type patients). better yet, a combo of the two would be perfect

good luck
