PS: seemed ok, although there were a few independent questions that I did not know mthe answer to and really could not use POE effectivley. In addition, we had a disturbance where a girl fell and was bleeding above her eye. The paramedics came with a stretcher...Because of the confusion, the proctor did not give the "5 minutes left" call and just said put down your pencils. The disturbance happened about 10 minutes or so before the PS was supposed to end. I left about 9 or 10 questions blank. I wish I would have been paying more attention to the time towards the end, so I would at least have had a chance to get some of them right.

VR: This is my weak section but it seemed easier than normal. I actually finished on time with time to spare. This has never happened to me. I usually feel rushed and lose accuracy as a result.

WS: Decent topics, I answered all 3 prompts but dont think I got a 'T' I'd be happy with a 'P' or better

BS: Harder than PS. Im hoping some of the passages are experimental 🙂

Glad to be done studying for this thing 🙂

This was difficult.

PS wasn't that bad, but there were still a lot I had to guess on. Like usual.

VR: Not bad either. The passages about the porcelain stones and the one about justice or something were long

BS: I can't believe they wanted you to memorize the Amino Acids. I am so pissed about this!! There was too much stuff about the nervos system, particularly lumbar system and blah blah blah. That chart on the 2nd passage was confusing at first, but I finally figured it out. Those questions were pretty easy, if you could figure out the chart.

I'm hoping for a 30!

I had form AS also.

PS: Really hard. My goal was to finish, and I did. That was a relief, but I had to guess on a few of the calculation questions because I wasn't sure how to approach them. They seemed different from anything I had see with Kaplan, Examkrackers, or AAMC. What was the oxidation state on nitrogen in nitroglycerin? I had trouble with that for some reason, and randomly guessed -4.

VR: I thought this section was easier than any of the 8 Kaplan/AAMC practice exams I took. The natural rights passage was tricky, and I was unsure of several questions for that passage. Overall, I feel great about VR and think I did really well. I enjoyed the NEA passage, as well as the one about Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish ships.

BS: Too much physiology, molecular biology, and genetics. I don't remember more than two organic passage, and there might've only been one. For the question about the amino acid in a pH of 8, isn't the answer histidine? It was the only basic amino acid listed, and I was thinking that it takes on a negative charge in order to move down to 8. Did anyone else reason that out as well?

I agree with everyone else that this test was much different from any practice exams out there. I resent that somewhat, especially with the materials the AAMC publishes. This test seemed more difficult than last August's test, and I am hoping for a grading scale that is more lenient than those used on the AAMC practice exams.

Anyone else with form AS?

I had AS and I had a good feeling about it until I got here to sdn and read some answers lol....I didn't like the drake passage, but I fell pretty good about bio...and PS who knows ? need some luck there ! cause I ain't taking this the third time ! lol...hope everyone did well :luck:

Hey,
i took the AS with you in birmingham....man, i still can't believe that the chick passed out in the middle of the exam

I took AS in Utah. I thought the PS and VR were some of the easiest I took. And the two writing samples were cake. That first one about sharing science was a no-brainer, I thought.

I felt pretty decent about Bio, but was thrown by a few questions. The amino acid one about the secondary amine bugged me. I haven't had biochem yet, so I haven't memorized their structures. A few other questions. . . all in all it really ed me off b/c I hadn't had problems with BS sections ever. We'll see, I guess. I don't know, I have felt really good about stuff before and just ed it. 54 days until we find out, I guess, but who's counting?

Hi thinkpositive, did you take the MCAT yesterday at the Madren Conference Center in Clemson? If so, what did you think of the testing experience there? Do you have any idea why we didn't start testing until after 9:00? I saw someone come in at 8:30, and could be convinced that she was just arriving. And how about the heat during the PS section? I was sweating when it was over and was thankful that they figured out how to turn on the air conditioning.
