On the AMCAS essay section, in the box where you input your PS I have the word typed as "Enlightened".
When I hit continue to see the finished product, it always appears as "Enlighten ed" no matter how I try to change it.
It's the first word of the last paragraph so it is fairly important.
Any ideas how to fix it?

Did you copy/paste in? If not, try that. If you did, try deleting that line (or paragraph) and typing manually.

It's also possible that the problem is just with the way AMCAS is showing you the finished product, it's not the greatest software in the world. But that is really annoying, I hate stuff like that.

Yeah this happened last year, too.

It should come out correctly when you print it.

Assume that the version schools see is correct (as far as I know, nothing can be done to change it).

My chemistry tutoring helped to enlighten ed.

You could also try putting in word pad.....

i had that happen to me too. the PDF has it formatted correctly.

Word pad does formatting... try notepad and change something about that paragraph... maybe add an extra space or take one out somewhere or reword something - see if that fixes it somehow.

Mine is doing the same thing with experiencin g but when I print it it's find so I'm just going to assume the schools will see it correctly

Like I said: the same thing happened last year. There's no need to panic. The schools will (hopefully) see it correctly. Or if not, there's really nothing you can do about it.

It's about 2/3rds of the way down the box, right?

Again, it should come out correctly when you print it.
