Formatting the PS

Hi,

Does anyone know how to italicize or underline text in the PS section of the AMCAS primary app?

You cannot, simple text only.

This is from the 2011 AMCAS instructions:

Applicants who plan to cut and paste their essays into the application should draft their
essays in a text-only format, preferably in text-only word processing software, such as
Microsoft Notepad. Copying formatted text into the application may result in formatting​

issues that cannot be edited once your application is submitted.

Thanks for the response. I mention a title in my PS, so would you recommend any of the following?

'Hamlet'

_Hamlet_

or just plain and no-frills: Hamlet ?

I'd use the single apostrophe; I hate the underscores next to words.

This maybe a dumb question, but does the PS box allow you to indent for each paragraph? Or are you supposed to add a blank line between paragraphs to separate them?

Like this? Or would that just take up characters?
