Just a question to people who live in Fort Collins or are familiar with the area . .

I am visiting the vet school this weekend and a little of next week and we wanted to get a taste of what to do around there. Can anyone who is already at CSU or familiar with the area suggest a must-go-to restaurant, bar, or place to visit/see there? Or a thing to do as we will have an extra day in Fort Collins before we head off to ski!

Thanks for any information!

If you're into beer, I'd hit up the New Belgium Brewery! They are mostly known for their beer called Fat Tire. I visited CSU in the summer of 2007 and ended up going with my mom and some family that lives in the area although I was underage and still am. 🙄 It is very close to the school and I believe they have a free tasting! Other than that, there are a lot of boutiques and stuff near the school that were fun to browse. I can't remember any restaurants we ate at that were particularly noteworthy.

Have fun!

Hi,

I'd suggest going to the Coopersmith's (pub fare and a good place to play pool) or maybe BB's pickle barrel (sandwiches) for lunch. The Crownpub has a couple really good dishes too (the new orleans pasta is awesome)...and if you're there for breakfast definately go to the silver grill cafe. As for things to do, you could take a drive over to the horsetooth resivour, or out for a hike in Lory state park. Walking around old town is a nice way to spend an hour or so, and there are a bunch of bars down there if you'd like to go out for the night while you're here. Taking the brewery tours at Odell's or New Belgum is always popular. Fort Collins is a really really nice town, I hope you have a great time while you're here!
