I think i should stay away from this forum for a while. I just read photophosphorylation's(sp?) post and it kinda makes me want to panic. I would definitely stay away when my test day draws near. Anyone else get this anxious feeling when reading certain posts here?

I know exactly what you mean. Still I cant help but check it everyday to see if there is any new advice. I rather know the info and get nervous, than miss out on something useful. 🙂 When are you taking the test?

I felt the same way. Somehow I managed to quit logging on for about 10! days before my test. I thinked it helped. After the test it wasn't hard to catch up on what I "missed." I tried reviewing the day before the DAT, but couldn't concentrate. For me, it was best to do some mindless stuff. :luck:

don't panic. I'm sure you'll do fine. Don't take me as an example. I swear its not that bad if you know how to study. I just screwed up cuz I'm never efficient in my studying, and I've learnt that I also don't study right. So don't panic. The worst thing I ever did was go to my DAT scared crapless. It screwed me over. I'm almost possitive that if I was just a litte bit more confident, I would've done atleast a little bit better with the PA part and maybe even the RC and CR; as for the other sections, you either know them or you don't, thats how I see it.

Get a good night's sleep before the test, be VERY confident. I don't know about SDN; it just might be a good idea to lay off of it for a little but. I didn't. But I had some GC questions that were pissing me off, so I kinda had to stay logged on for some of the time.

I wish you the best of luck. and don't panic. Go confident and act like you wrote the dam thing!

I know what you mean... I felt that way too but I continued to come before I took the exam and I'm glad I did. Don't be so nervous about taking the exam. I think that's the hardest part... before the exam actually begins (at least for me it was). All the pressure, expectations, continuous studying, stressing, and fearing that you won't know anything during the exam. But once you actually START the exam on test day, everything sorta falls into perspective, as you realize that you DO know most of the questions, etc. Really, it's no biggie. If you studied and prepared for it, you'll be fine~

For sure the forum is causing me anxiety. I did well on the DAT but everyone preaches to apply early. Since I applied mid-August, I am beginning to believe that I may have blown my opportunity at some schools. For example, CASE...Interviews only after Dec 1 now? Man. Seems like the people who applied in June and July are the only ones who have a shot. Bummah! Oh well. Nuthin' I can do except wait and wait and wait. 😉 Even though it is a stressful (and expensive) process, it's exciting to think of the possibilities!

The anxiety is brought on by the fact that you see some REALLY high scores on here. Most of the people on here are the "overachievers" and don't represent the average dental student. That has been said many times. Besides, you need high AND low scores/gpa to make up the average.

try to not read the "scores" threads. Only use the forums when u have a specific question and see if it has been answered here. Especially the QR section. And let those "other" threads serve to motivate you.

Yeah, I agree. Most people on this are high achievers, so reading does make me feel anxious too. Sdnmember. Thanks for having this posting it helps to normalize some of feelings.
