hey,

I am having trouble using Image J...specifically, transposing the numbered markers for an image of one slice of cells onto another image of the same slice, but with a different stain...

anybody know a good forum or resource for help with these things? it's a free program, so there's no customer service that i know of...

Use save markers, then import them onto the next image.

cool i will play around with that thanks.

while i'm here, do you know which option under import is best?

Image Sequence, Raw, LUT, Text Image, Text File, Results, URL, Stack from List, TIFF Virtual Stack, Analyze, Animated Gif

Also, does this work for the automated counter/analyze particles? Ideally, I was hoping to use the automatic counter, and overlay the markers/numbered outlines onto the other image, to see if there were double positives.

Do you use cell counter under plugins--> analysis? It has an in-program marker save and reload function that saves the markers as xml files. To import, just click reload marker when you open the next image. I haven't tried the automated counter yet.

yeah, i do use the plugin --> counter

the markers show up on the comparison image automatically if you initialize them both together

which is great for finding "double positives", but this means i have to still count them all one by one, whereas the automatic counter is just as accurate, but I don't know how to import or transpose the markers onto the other image to find "double positives"

i will play around with the xml and importing, but the thing is, after the automated count, it is converted into a "drawing" so im not sure if it will have the same import capability...

thanks though
