but again, all things being equal, if you split into two tracks (retail 3yrs, for example, and clinical for 4)...how does that alleviate the "crush" of new grads entering retail? It'll make the "pill counting and labeling for $100k+" job more accessible & easier to complete.

You have to agree the 4 years necessary + prereqs/BS-BA requirement keep many people out of the profession.
